    Lumpectomy
    A lumpectomy is a surgical procedure that involves removing cancerous or abnormal tissue from the breast.
    At Epic International, a lumpectomy procedure involves removing the cancer or other abnormal tissue and a small portion of healthy tissue around it. This guarantees that all of the abnormal tissue is extracted completely.
    Lumpectomy, also known as breast-conserving surgery or wide local excision, removes only a portion of the breast tissue. This is different from a mastectomy, which removes all breast tissue. It may also be referred to as an excisional biopsy or quadrantectomy. Lumpectomy is often used as a treatment for early-stage breast cancer, and may also be used to confirm a cancer diagnosis. Radiation therapy is usually recommended after lumpectomy to reduce the risk of cancer recurrence.
    Mastectomy
    A mastectomy is a surgical procedure involving the removal of all or part of the breast.
    In a mastectomy, a surgical procedure is performed to remove one or both breasts. Sometimes, nearby tissues like lymph nodes may also be removed. This type of surgery is commonly used to treat breast cancer. In certain situations, a mastectomy may be recommended as a preventive measure for women with a high risk of developing breast cancer.
